Violetta Markelou

Photographer, visual artist and health alchemist, Violetta Markelou has been empowering women and men through her lens for the past 17 years. Throughout her career, Violetta has sought to capture the most authentic people and stories, encouraging them to be exactly who they are in front of her lens. Fusing her talent as a photographer and her knowledge as a holistic health coach, Violetta creates a safe space for a new, elevated identity to be born. Her “photo empowerment” sessions infuse wellness modalities, so that each person is relaxed, confident and ready to step into their best self. 

 

Influenced by 21st century photography masters Herb Ritts, Richard Avedon and Annie Leibovitz, Violetta’s photography is a blend of stylized portraiture and raw photojournalism. Her most recent series ‘Inbox Full’ raised awareness on mental health and documented stories of perseverance within the small business community through the 2020 pandemic. During this most tumultuous time, Violetta seized an opportunity to tell a story of trauma and mental fortitude simultaneously providing emotional healing for herself and for each subject.

As a founding member of Futuri Femme, a women’s health event series, Violetta aims to bridge the world of health and wellness with art and education. Empowering every woman with health solutions and affordable resources is her living, breathing legacy.
